Learning to Trad Climb: A week with Jacob
Jacob joined us in June for a week long course with a view to becoming a more rounded climber. With a desire to get into the higher mountains we started our course with a trip to the Isle of Skye where we climbed "Pinnacle Ridge" a 600m mountaineering route given the grade Diff. It is a very alpine-esque experience and the weather certainly did not dissapoint! We spent day 2 brushing up on skills at Neist Point on the Isle of Skye and opted to return to Lochaber and Glencoe f


Urban Adventures. The London Climbing Centres (LCC) 8 Centres challenge
Rope Access work on St Pancras... In November 2022: I found myself in London, picking up my first stint of industrial rope access work. The idea was to bridge the autumnal "off-season" with work that actually pays. I say this because for those with experience in the outdoor industry this is something of a novelty. I had recently completed my industrial rope access (IRATA) level 1 qualification, and the idea was to find work near my family home in Clapham in South West London


Classic Rock Climbs of Scotland: 2 days in Applecross with Tim & Charlotte
In June 2025 I met up with Tim and Charlotte in Applecross for 2 days guided rock climbing. With a spectacular forecast we climbed 2 brilliant routes (and one less so...). Including the Cioch Nose. A Tom Patey - Chris Bonnington classic featured in Ken Wilson's book "Classic Rock" and the simply brilliant "Sword of Gideon" (VS 4C).
